Digging Out!!

What a night we had! At about 4:30 a huge storm started blowing through the neighborhood. Our lights began to flicker until they went out for good at about 5pm. Paul had just left work and called to say he might be awhile because the roads were so bad. He had no CLUE how long "awhile" was really going to be. Tate and I started getting cold around 8pm, after heating up spaghettio's in the sink with hot water, we went upstairs to my bedroom and shut the door and lit a bunch of candles. Paul was still not home!! I ran a hot shower to heat things up a bit in the bedroom and Tate and I settled into bed. Paul ended up getting home at about 10:45pm!! His 15 mile drive ended up taking 5 1/2 hours. Still no power until sometime in the night. What an adventure. I guess I am headed to Cabela's to stock up on my emergency supplies.
This is what we woke up to this morning. Do you like what we've done with the stucco?
We got a nice snow drift on our porch!
All the houses in the neighborhood looked like they had been sandblasted white.
Our neighbors garage had a snow drift 4 feet high in front it. This was after they had cleared most of it off, but it was as high as the snowbank on the left. (notice Paul doesn't have a shovel)

That's nutty! You just convinced me to invest in a gas stove.

I love your house! Is that really your kitchen?? I'm officially jealous. Although, I'm definitely not jealous of the snow!
